题目:Investigation of quantum materials using time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy

摘要:

Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is a powerful experimental tool in the condensed matter physics research because of its ability to directly probe the electronic structure of materials. In recent years, one of the new advances in this area is the time-resolved ARPES that introduces the ultrafast pump-probe scheme. It provides important yet thermally inaccessible information for understanding and controlling the complex materials. In this talk, I will describe the basics of both the static and time-resolved ARPES. I will then present how we have used these techniques to uncover new phenomena in the superconducting and charge density wave materials, such as the enhanced superconductivity accompanying a Lifshitz transition in electron-doped FeSe monolayer, the band structure evidence of possible high-temperature topological superconductivity in FeTe1?xSex monolayer, the coherent electron-lattice modulation, mode-selective electron-phonon coupling and the resulting hidden phases in the charge density wave material 1T-TaSe2. The talk will conclude with a brief discussion of future research plan.

施训,现为科罗拉多大学博尔德分校博士后研究员。本科毕业于武汉大学,博士毕业于中国科学院物理研究所。主要利用常规和超快角分辨光电子能谱(ARPES)研究铁基超导、磁性、二维电荷密度波等材料的电子结构和超快动力学。
