题目:Battling in the realm of a topological superconductor candidate: Sr2RuO4

摘要:Since its discovery in 1994, the unconventional superconductivity in Sr2RuO4 has attracted tremendous interest. The prospect of it being a topological chiral p-wave superconductor, which supports Majorana fermions, makes it a potential solid state platform for topological quantum computation. However, despite the multiple signatures in support of chiral p-wave pairing, a number of key measurements in the last decade have called into question this interpretation. I will present our theoretical efforts on various fronts of this material, which culminated in the proposal of an alternative nematic p-wave pairing. Time permitting, I will also report our progress on  the so-called “Angular Momentum Paradox” raised more than fifty years ago in the study of a topological chiral superfluid.

简历:Wen Huang received a bachelor degree from South China University of Technology in 2009, then in 2011 a master degree in experimental condensed matter physics from Simon Fraser University in Canada. After that, he switched to condensed matter theory and obtained his PhD from McMaster University in 2016. He has a broad interest in unconventional superconductivity and strongly correlated systems.
